As Christ’s disciples went into the world to preach His gospel, we too feel it is our responsibility to reach out to others who may not yet know Christ.
The Mission committee and our church is actively involved in fundraising for a number of worthy causes, demonstrating our Congregation’s heartfelt response to people in need around the world and here at home. Over the past years, our Congregation has monetarily supported the Micro Pantry on our Front Porch, Mendota Area Christian Food Pantry, PADS, Abigail Women’s Clinic, the CWS Blanket Offering, CWS Mission Kits, and Marion Medical Mission Well Projects. In 2024, we continue our mission focus on supporting the four special offerings of the Presbyterian Church along with being a Matthew 25 Church.
By receiving all four of the Special Offerings mandated by the General Assembly:
One Great Hour of Sharing,
Pentecost,
Peace & Global Witness,
Christmas Joy
a Four for Four congregation declares its connection with the ministries of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and joins in the efforts of peace and endless love.
In addition to supporting the 4 for 4 offering and paying our Per Capita in full and monetarily supporting our Blackhawk Presbytery, we were recognized as a 6 for 6 Congregation in 2023.
At various times during the year, you will find envelopes in the pews to donate specifically to mission projects of the Presbyterian Church. Bulletin inserts specific to these mission projects explain how and where your contributions are used.
We have a Mission committee Co- chaired by Andra Goy and Jessica Cox. Contact either of us if you are willing to help with this ministry.
